History

On September 5, 1945, Derksen organized its first auction, making Derksen Auction House the oldest auction house in Gelderland and the only one in Arnhem. In the late 1960s, Derksen gained widespread national renown for auctioning hospitality inventory. Among other things, the inventory of the Kurhaus in Scheveningen went under the hammer. Since the 1990s, Derksen has increasingly specialized in auctioning art, antiques, and household goods. On January 1, 2009, auctioneer Albert Keddeman took over the hammer from Jenny van Mourik – Derksen. Together with his wife Liesbeth and a team of permanent employees, they guarantee service, customer friendliness, and an approachable atmosphere.
